As a coach you should value your players' health.

You should never put pressure on your athlete to perform when they are not feeling up to it.

You should never put a player back into play until they are cleared by a doctor or neurologist after a concussion.

You should keep an eye out for your players and if you notice that they exhibit any symptoms of a concussion, urge the parents about taking their athlete to get checked out.

Never let an athlete tell you they are okay to play when you can clearly tell they are not.

It is your job to create a safe environment for athletes to compete in and to encourage your athletes to stay safe and preserve their neurological health as well as their physical health.

It is never a good idea to put an athlete's health at stake to win a game or competition.

Encourage your athletes to look out for each other as well.

Athletes sometimes will not want to tell a coach about an injury but will tell their friends, create an environment where it's okay for your athletes to speak up when they are injured or know when a teammate is injured.
